I'm going to start taking advantage of the fact that we're shifting to an all makes all models repair shop to film new videos. I'd pretty much run the course on Cruiser repairs. With the new business model we should have a wider variety to pull from. Today we're doing an oil change on a Subaru Outback with an H6. Enjoy!!

Was looking for a repair solution for a customer's broken mirror after we came up empty handed for a new one. This repair bracket from Solv Function on Etsy was an extremely elegant and easy repair. Wish I'd found it before I used windshield adhesive to solid mount the mirror on my truck :) www.etsy.com/listing/718123962/bracket-to-fix-shakey-mirror-on-fj80

      Sounds like one of the adjusters got spun so they don't line up side to side anymore. It's easiest to reassemble with the adjusters all the way at one end or the other to insure they line back up.

    It's so nice to see maintenance performed by an actual mechanic. If for no other reason than to see how much slower most of us move. Also, i stole that brass hammer vs. Drift trick. Drifts are nice to smaller stuff or precision stuff but those cone washers pop right out when you mini sledge a brass hammer. Love the content, thanks!

    Great video. Thanks! Doing this tune up this week. While in there, would like to replace vacuum, coolant, fuel/evap, ventilation hoses, hoses. Can you recommend the appropriate over the counter hose sizes to use. I don’t see specs in the FSM. Looks like a quality fuel hose of similar inner diameter will work for most fuel/evap hoses. Uses several oem formed hoses where I can find part numbers. Any cautions or recommendations are appreciated.

    • @OTRAMM

      We use factory for most of the hoses. You can get away with 1/8" vac line for the really small hoses but the factory stuff fits better and lasts longer.

    Why don't you have the crankshaft keyway lined up with the dimple? It looks like you have it closer to the "window" mark, (4 squares making 1 square). Would you line it up to that "window" mark, which is past the dimple on crankshaft. when you have the cams set, past TDC (I) to the (T) timing belt service? So dimple on crankshaft and cam to TDC vertical line the same as cams on T and crank on window. Would this be right or wrong

  • @joshscott8678
    @joshscott8678 Місяць тому

    What is the crankshaft mark, past the dimple, that looks like a window (4 small squares). Where your crankshaft is sitting it looks like it would be closer to the window mark than dimple. Having key stone on dimple only allows 3 of the 5 belt dots to fully seated on sprocket
